At approximately 7:47 a.m. on June 8, 2022, the New York State Police responded to a fatal crash involving two motorcycles on I-87 north in the town of Malta, between exits 11 and 12. Troopers said the boom lift exceeded the height limit for the overpass, which carries Sitterly Road over the Northway.
